2010 or is it 20-10?

Today Kyla and I had a little debate about the upcoming year and the proper way of stating the year.
Kyla says 2010 (two thousand ten)
I say 20-10 (twenty-ten)
I first informed Kyla that I am her elder and she is to respect me but she quickly told me that Memaw (Kyle's Mom) said she agrees with 2010 (two thousand ten). I began to use my backup plan..."Well in 1910 do you think they said 'One thousand Nine hundred and ten?" Kyla quickly responded "Gee Mom don't know since we weren't there." By this time I am getting frustrated simply because she has a good point and I'm wanting desperately to be right!
So, I moved to the less syllables angle. HA! I had less...by one but I won. Not really...I just choose to say 20-10.
So however you desire to say it...HAPPY NEW YEAR!
